Hang on.  You got into trouble for having a water balloon fight?  Who with?  As long as it wasn't actually on the course I can't see the problem.

Looks like I'm coming along for the ride now, so as is my want, I'll be taking some pictures, and maybe they'll end up on BM again as they did on the Clic24 ride.

If any one is still looking for a place we have just had two riders drop out...

We have a total of four teams entered, and there is a spare place in a sort of fast team, and a slightly slower team.  However if needed we can swap teams around to suit.

I've been bedded down with Gastroenteritus since Saturday morning. Had a bowl of rice last night which stayed down. Today has been back to normal. (how nice it is to be able to fart!)

Do I have a day's training (2hr ride) this evening as I feel fine and have had plenty of food, or leave-be?

No, absolutely not. Do not ride. You can't, at this stage, make yourself any fitter by the weekend, but you can certainly trash yourself. You're better off eating and drinking regularly and resting up so your mucle and liver glycogen levels recover fully by Saturday. Maybe, if you feel sharp on Friday go out and do a set of short, sharp, ten-second sprints with around 1 min 50 recovery between them, about ten of them, but no, there's absolutely no point in training now.

Mayhem's all about being able to go hard and recover in two hours or less then doing it all over again btw.

Anyway, rest. There's nothing to be gained from doing anything more than a gentle spin and maybe something short and sharp day before to wake your legs up. In my opinion anyway.
