I've only been once and camped at the Afan forest park campsite. It was perfect for the long weekend.

If there was more of us we probably would have got a cottage or something, but compared to the cost of camping, I dont mind roughing it if its a small group.

I dont know what it would be like in Winter, but for summer evenings, the only thing I would want is a 'boma' - African term for enclosure 'somewhere to sit around a nice big fire'
