I am booked to do Polaris Challenge in Traquair Estate, Tweed Valley, Near Peebles this weekend July 5th and 6th) but my riding partner has just been sent to India by his company at short notice so I am looking for a replacement partner. Polaris Challenge is a two day mountain bike navigation event - a bit of a mix of endurance and strategy.  The summer ones are always really good - hundreds of participants, beautiful trails and a big party with a band on Saturday night.  They tend to be a bit more relaxed than the winter ones and you don't have to carry tents, cooking gear etc.  Details at <a href="http://www.dirtyweekendadventure.com/polaris.html" title="blocked::http://www.dirtyweekendadventure.com/polaris.html">http://www.dirtyweekendadventure.com/polaris.html</a>.  This year it's co-venued with other running and adventure race events at the 'Dirty Weekend' so party should be even bigger and better than usual.Participants can be solo or 2-person teams - I've done a lot of these and always in a team - I don't fancy soloing it.  You'll need bike, tent and that's it really.  I'll be driving up the M6 so may be able to share a lift or pick you up on the way North.
