Arrange to meet/ride with karlos at dalby.  Tell him you are poor with directions and can you meet him somewhere easy.  He drive you both to Dalby, pays for the parking, possibly buys you lunch and saves you a bit of fuel.  He may even show you a good time whilst riding

LOL

I have a year's pass Hobo, I use and abuse the forest and it's wildlife on a regular basis. There are loads of ways to get in for free, the easiest is to park up just outside and ride in. Though if you do that you deserve to die whilst playing in the forest.

I don't mind paying for upkeep of trails but the seven quid at Dalby is steep to say the least. It's a high charge to pay for that horrible wooden shed that's no good for bikers anyway.

Three quid at Glentress last weekend...

I cant realy understand its an "open space" owned by the  forestry commission  [us as its a goverment  owned  thing] we are charging ourselves for using it.

The fee is not for parking or using the trails or trail up-keep, it's a toll for driving along the forest road IIRC.

If you don't want to pay £7 every time you go you can get a free pass by joining SingletrAction and doing some spade work on the trails.

As you also look after Stainburn I may join, and flatten out some of the nasty lumps you have built there.

Wonder if XCmans car got towed or clamped for illegal parking

Nope

Parked in a small layby and biked in about 2 miles nice warm up before doing the red and the black, plus a play around in the pace park.

Fcuk me the skinnies were slippy fell of 3 or 4 times. and only got 1/2 way around.

Laugh a minute with the downhill north shore on the black, first man in just wiped after 10 yards I managed about 11 then got on for another 10 before nerly taking rear mech of.

Sacked it in the end and rode around it.

Pub home via a 5 mile off road drive over Barden fell as the A59 was shut

Stunning day out
