Mike, most Velodromes do taster/intro sessions including bike hire etc.  i've been considering having a go up in Manchester.

Yeh Newport has the same. The stock Pinarello bikes they have there are actually quite alright.

A tad undergeared, though. My legs nearly fell off.

Well the last time i rode one of those stock Pinarello's i was 13 and just starting. After that i had my own bike. So for a 13 year old it was a tad over geared

I thought they had various bikes with different gears on though?
