For those used to speeding down the lane from southhead
The lane is damaged after the weekend rain and now has 18inch deep ruts down it where the rain has eroded the lane.

What used to be a good down hill blast is no more and needs some caution.

Only hope is if the farmer fills it all in, but overall a depressing ride trying to do the climb tonight and seeing the damage.

I was walking ()  in the area on Saturday and was amazed by the amount of damage done by the rain. Half of Cavedale seemed to be making it's way into Castleton village.

You need to see Chapel Gate out of Edale Valley. The ribbon of tarmac as described in this months MBR is no more. From below the gate that's halfway down, it's now a steep stream bed of drop offs. Possibly rideable down but doubtful really. The area at the bottom (of the hill) gate is now levelled off and quite amazing to see if you knew what it was like before. Chapel Gate Demon may have to reconsider his/her name. This means that I still can't ride up it! Bugger!
