Due to haveing a hetic lift style and a one year old lad my riding is really being cut down, so really the only time i have left is in the evening after 8.30 and the boy is asleep. anyone doing any night rides around then i could come along to, so kicking off about 9PM. its scary riding on your own.

Where abouts in Oxfordshire are you??

Know the feeling though. When the kids are a sleep is the only time for me as well.

There used to be a huge group of riders that went out in Woodstock, used to meet up with them at the Blenheim Cafe. Worth heading down there on a Sunday if you can and see if they still hang around there.

If you want a pretty self contained night ride Stonesfield is good. Some nice technical singletrack (just watch out for the big drops).

Yes been out that way a few times. Im based in Carterton and usually ride out most Thursday nights with a few guys from Witney. Usually head out that way. If you fancy joining up then give us a shout.

Also looking at doing a few rides out around Burford (i added a previous thread in this forum). But as you said at the start with young kids cant really get out untill 8-9 pm.

Wheres this old quarry at hangborough?? Sounds good.

Do you mean the old quarry near the Blenheim estate Serge? Rode in their a couple of times but got chased off by the water company people (mean buggers they were).

There's a few miles of *ahem* unofficial singletrack through the Blenheim woods (if you can find it, their groundskeepers were armed, we were very careful) that was good fun in the dark. I might have to spend a week up that way when I come back to the UK and hook up with you all for some of these rides

Emo, are Giles still going in Carterton?

Serge, there are a bunch of guys who meet up at the red lion in eynsham on a thursday for a night ride from spring 'till winter. The riding tends towards riding trails from pub to pub and ends late but they have a fun night out
