Nope. A few miles further west. I like the look of those German Forests. What's the riding like there? Is there any decent singletrack?
Loads of it actually. It's a really good place to ride. It's Alpine style but without the 3 hour endless climbs. You can get to the top of the mountians in around 40mins to an hour and then the descents back down take around 20 mins without the need for pedalling. South of Leipzig the mountain range is called 'the Ore Mountains' which are higher but not quite as steep on the German side but if you go over the border to the Czech Rep. they are really steep. There is one race usually at the beginning of May called the Mad East Challenge which is a three day MTB marathon (Fri hill climb TT, Sat 100km point to point race, and the main marathon on the Sunday) which takes you over the border and you can tell instantly which country you are in.....and it isn't just the amount of Skodas.
