Hi Folks I've just moved to Uni in Glasgow and am missing the mtb. Does anyone know of anywhere nearby for any type of ridding wheather it be x-country or DH. cheers!

Plenty of riding to be had...the rail network is very good and can get to places that aren't quite local but not far off - Stirling is 'nearby' for some hills, also heading up to Milngavie gives you access to a lot of riding round the West Highland Way - you can ride out to Milngavie - along the Kelvin something or other - follows a river I think - it's a nice pedal.

Glasgow MTB Club has loads of local knowledge, if you hook up with them you will find oceans of places to go ride.

Stewart  As Dick says try Glasgow MTB club they are based in milngavie and know the area well. If riding in Glasgow beware using the canal tow path as you may have to play dodge the wino or avoid the ned, both can be a useful training method to improve your sprinting.
Have you tried Scotland its somewhere near Glasgow and I hear it has some hills
