DK,

Can you post an update on conditions. Am looking at w/end of 12th or 19th. Suppose I'd better start a new thread soon.

Will do, though the 19th will be better for me, can't make the 12th as I have an assignment due in on the 13th

Alx, how's yer hand, broken?

It's ok thanks. By sunday it had got even bigger and was giving me more pain so i went to the local minor injuries unit to get it checked out. Helpfully they didn't have an x-ray operator on duty so couldn't check to see if there were any breaks but said it was hopefully just severe bruising and that I needed to keep it elavated in a sling and take plenty of painkillers, and have a low threshold to come back. It appears to be getting better, the bruising has started to come out and it's covered most of the palm and also down the wrist, and I'm able to use it a bit more now.

Should only be a couple of weeks before I'm back on the bike ready to fall off again

BTW I'm looking around for a new front tyre - I remember vaguely you raving about a Geax tyre that you rated on the front? what model was it?

Glad to hear your hand is on the mend.

The GEAX LocoLobo 2.3 was a great UST front tyre, nice and grippy on rocks and cornered/rolled well.

The standard Rampage 2.3 I currently have on the front of the P7 is very good also but I seem to recall you said that the Panaracer USTs are shite?

Haven't tried the rampage, but I run standard tyres tubeless with a rimstrip and apparently the panaracers bead isn't suited to this. Will have a look at the loco lobo, ta.

Alx,

If you can type, you can ride! See you in the Dales in a few weeks time ?

Glad to hear you are on the mend.

Cheers. Won't be able to make the Dales ride as I've something else on but I'll hope to make it up at some point in the spring.

I still can't get shot of this chest infection. I was supposed to be in Dalby Forest from Sunday to try again, but the cold and damp air just starts me off with a hacking coughing fit.

At least I don't have a schedule, other than maybe the Gold Rush in March maybe, so the bikes can wait for a full recovery.

Sorry I missed you all - my Xmas was a complete waste of spare / play time & I've not been on a bike in over 5 weeks, and before that in November, it was 4 weeks.

However, I did hold true to my 2008's New Year's promise - not a single beer touched my lips and even on NY's Eve I drank soft drinks. Feeling empowered for when the time is right to ride again!

Tim
