That drop isn't actually that high, couple of feet - it's a clever camera angle.

Stainburn is ace though - was up there last Sunday; great fun even in the freezing cold..

Thanks!
The bike has gone I'm afraid but the memories are still here!(40" tv to be exact) If you hit the rock drop at speed you can really fly!! Did it on my all mountain hardtail a few times and I think thats what goosed my joints. Love hardtails though, they make Stainburn a bit more exciting.

I was thinking that a hardtail would probably be a lot more fun/bit easier than a bouncy bike at Stainburn.

particularly so for the rock gardens in the woods where flumpety-flumpety long travel suspension just seems to upset your balance etc.

Awesome place!
I've got the scars to prove it!!
Hardtail is harder on the rough downhill section but more fun in the woods.
Plus my hardtail weighs 34lb and my full suss weighed 28lbs (sold) so the full suss got the nod on the ups as well but I still prefer my HT for control and fun.

Yeah,

My neck still hurts from that one!

Infact nearly all my aches and pains are Stainburn related (except my broken bones from motorbikes).

Maybe if I hadn't found stainburn I would be still riding my mint Cannondale today!!

Never mind I've got a bike now that is as fast on the ups as it is on the downs
