Tempted....but may be going to morzine for a week seperately so....prob can't afford both

I am going to worry about such details as actually getting there and accommodation later.

And at some point I really am going to have to learn how to ride a bike downhill.

Pad up point it south and pedal
OK, I am going to have to learn how to ride a bike downhill, without repeatedly crashing in a pathetically embarrassing manner.

I ended up hitchhiking home by not planning my journey, i took a tent because i didn't plan my accomodation, and i had never ridden a downhill course before.

god knows how i survived.

Where exactly is it happening and when.

Alpe D'huez, sometime in July.

in short, you take a bike to the top of a mountain, at nearly 11,000ft and ride down to the valley below. across terrains including ice, snow, rocks, loam, rivers...

if you fancy a crack at it, don't consider it a downhill race, it's a mountain bike race.
It would have to be you mike, you did it last year and survived, besst of luck this year, dont think ill be there, but enjoy.
