hey out there,does anyone know what the medical note you need to compete in the mega avalanche is,and how you get one?also is it expensive.really fancy doing it this year but the note things confused me.cheers for any help

It's annoyingly expensive, you need to see your doctor.

Whilst being more expensive, joining the BCF will also suffice, and bring other benefits like 3rd party insurance.

I Joined british cycling and got a racing licence.

Visit any French doctor and they'll get you to do a few exercises to check recovery time, measure blood pressure, listen to your heart and write you a "certifiicat d'aptitude à la pratique du VTT en compétition" for €22.

It's not overly technical, but doing it at speed is the challenge.

Think along the lines of 3-4ft drops (rollable)
rock gardens
off camber
switchbacks
and a little bit of shore

I did it last year with no dh experience on an all mountain bike and survived it fine

North Shore? I hate north shore, and rock gardens, and off camber, and switchbacks.

I think I will have a long weekend in Alp d Huez a month or so before the event to check it out.
