They were working, now they aren't!

They're magura Julies, there's no damage to the hoses, there's all the fluid still in 'em, but the lever now goes back to the bars for the rear brake.

Any ideas?

if you can't pump up any pressure with quick and repeated lever pressing I would hazard a guess at the lever master cylinder seals have gone kaput.

Well. Erm.

A pad is missing.

That's a wierd one, chalk it up to experience.

Well, i cleaned it all up, stuck in some new pads and went riding this evening and it performed flawlessly (if a little squeaky).

no lasting damage, i'm happy

was it that the whole pad was missing, or the friction material had come away from the backing?
