Looking to go back to Les Gets again this year. The last 2 years went with Crystal Active - had some cracking deals in fully catered chalet right by the lifts (with free bikes in '07). But they've stopped doing Crystal Active so I need to find something similar. There are numerous companies that advertise, but who would you recommend? Ideally they should be able to provide airport transfers (with bikes), nice food/wine and comfortable accomodation with bike storage and helpful/knowledgable staff.

Have you considered driving across? if there is a few people going it a lot less faff than flying, and a hell of a lot cheaper.

I'm leaving out the getting there issue on this thread (I have another one covering that angle!) - OK I mentioned airport transfers, but it's really about once I'm there I'd like looking after well, it's a holiday after all

I went there a couple of years back with Alpine Elements.  Rooms were tiny (are they all in chalets?) but the food was good and the lounge areas etc were brilliant.

Great staff and superb food.  Can't remember the cost but given that I'm a tight wad it was likely to be very competitive.

Its mainly a ski resort so all most people want is a bed to crash in at the end of the day, same for biking, your not there to admire the room, cheep and cheerful is good.

Indeed MSP.  But you have to be pretty good mates to share a room!  And don't take your cat if you like swinging it round your room (never did understand that saying?)

Trust me MSP, some rooms in French ski accomodation really take the p**s. We had one where we had to use the balcony to unpack on! So it would be nice to not have to take turns to move around the room! Those days are thankfully starting to be put behind us, newer builds actually consider that a room may be occupied!

We have had a look at alpine elements Arry, good prices - but suspiciously cheaper than the rest - but then so were Crystal in their day, and they were good. Did you stay in the Chamois hotel?

No, we actually stayed over the hill in Morzine at the Chalet Well.  I used to work in a Ski resort and can say the standard of Chalet Well was pretty typical and inline with the market standard.  I don't recall anything about Alpine Elements that was anything less than spot on that would explain the cheaper price.
