Am I right in thinking that the 7 staines are all below Glasgow/Edinburgh. Are there any trail centres up in the highlands?

That's what I was looking for, thanks

Does anybody know how ride-able the Fort William downhill track is, for the inexperienced downhill rider?

Is it full of jumps etc, or is it something that can be ridden at lower speeds to build up confidence and technique?

I always do the Laggan Wolftrax centre on our Fort William visit...

Well worth the extra miles, love the red routes...

I've been riding the Fort William DH track occasionally for about five years now

the dh track is pretty full on but this year sees the opening of the new red grade route so you could buy a day pass for the gondola and try both tracks

Golspie (north of inverness) is one of the best tracks i've ridden and is well worth a visit

laggan also gets a big thumbs up!
