Purple route? That not one of the old walking routes?

Sure there use to be

Red

Green

Purple [thats the colour it looks could be off blue] and that was the dead easy route that families use to do.

Right at the end it dives off to the right and there are a lot of little children on little bikes walking it with parents tut tutingwhen you come upon them at speed.

Maybe it should have gone straight on ?

Really? I did it again this week and it was packed (thats got to be a good sign) I was passing riders all along (and some passed me of course).

I felt that those families were saying to their little ones "look at him, keep practicing and that will be you one day!"

Incidently I chose to take a more xc orientatated bike rather than the "all-mountain" bike I took last two times and it was all the better for it. Not having slack angles and 160mm of squidge to smooth things out added to it. I didn't find the slab any more difficult on it either. Good job cos the was a small audience sat watching anyone who dared.

I have said it already but big thanks to the builders, you have done a great job and I sincerely hope you get the funding to finish it off. All it needs is a gradual single track climb between the volunteer section and the quarry and a fast flowing off the brakes downhill to finish and in my opnion it will rival any of the other trail centres.

But I am sure you have even bigger plans than that.!

ive been up again this week twice, once with the lads and once with my 10 yr old lad, two very different experiences....

with the lads did the slab this time thanks to peer pressure, and a girl watching. Really loved the gully again, its such a grinner, love the little kicker just after the last wall ride. Did the volunteer section too which was great except it was about 8.45 and nearly pitch black in there which added to the fun.

Back there with my lad yesterday, we managed 8 miles in just under 3 hours ! I had to push two bikes up most hills....and ride two bikes down the steeper parts of the gully (not at the same time). Having said that he really enjoyed it, but he thinks he would have ridden it better on his bmx !

thanx again to all involved, it gets more fun with each ride.
