Do you mean steerer length?  If so, it would depend on the size of the frame...   are you after new forks for it then?

the frame is 18" dan, i was looking at my forks the other day and they're starting to wear a little under the seals. I've had this happen before and had to have new stantions and steerer fitted which aren't cheap being RLC/TALAS ones  .

Thinking about changing to some marzzochi's with maybe 6" travel. The only reason i ask about steerer size/diameter is because they're not all the same on the websites??

Doesn't matter what steerer length they come long so you can saw them down.

If you're getting second hand just measure it and make sure the one you're buying is greater than or equal to your old one

ah right- well i would think your old forks were 1 and 1/8 inch diameter so just get them and then cut the steerer to length. .

many thanks BHB and Dan, just need to either save an search for new forks or shamedly take the fox's in to be dealt with, then again my mate's been through two sets of 36's and swears he'll never get any more?!
