Seriously considering buying a Boardman bike this year, but I remember that last year they seemed to get discounted when the new years models came out. The question is, given the economic climate and the dramatic price rises for bike components, is the same thing likely to happen this year, or not? Any ideas? Am I just a greedy sod?

In the current climate, if I was buying some sort of high prices comsumer product I would be looking at haggling a little bit.  If not on the price then definitely getting something chucked in.  If you've decided to what you want and that you can pay the asking price you've got nothing to lose in asking.

Aren't boardmans only sold in Halfords? if so good luck on getting something for nothing.

Always worth a punt in a local shop but halfords, not a chance.

I got some half price, Pace forks at Halfords. A Hope rotor for £10 and some free bar plugs. All through the art of blagging

Aha so blagging at Halfords is worthwhile?

Do you mean armed blagging, in which case if you paid anything for the goods you left with, then your not very good at it.
