I just joined the bikemagic forum yesterday after BM kindly agreed to publicise one of our up and coming events. I thought I'd say a quick hello in here and hope to be having many a discussion with you guys over the coming weeks and months!!

I'm Richard Cryer (Craz for short - don't know why!) and I hail from Castleford in West Yorkshire. I'm a full time I.T. geek working for a company in York where I've been employed for 25 years now. I'm 40 years young and have 3 kids (11, 6 & 1).

Bike-wise I normally ride my tried and trusted Genesis Altitude 2.0 (2007) although it's normally weighed down with a multitude of baggies full of spares, haribo, first aid kits and tools. I've also recently bought a road bike (Raleigh Airlite 300) which I took out for it's first run on Tuesday this week and did my first 100 mile (in a single day) ride ever! I was pretty pleased with myself but the bike geometry took a lot of getting used to, as well as the gearing which had me beat on a couple of hills around the Chevin and Summerbridge!!!! I also suffered a little in the buttock department as I have a Brooks on the MTB which is well worn to the shape of my rear. The less than forgiving slice of seat on the Raleigh brought back some cruel memories!!!!
