Hello i found some Carlube brake fluid from ASDA that is DOT 4.1 with a minimum boiling point of 230 degrees would this be ok in my juicy 3 and 7's or would i need bike specific brake fluid?
I use stuff from Halfords Dot 5 i think, you don't need bike specific but if the Fluid differs from what Is already in your system you will need to do a full brake flush first.
Im not sure if it's avid fluid or what but it says i can have either dot 4 or dot 5.1. I have just noticed actually that there is a wet spot on the lever that keeps appearing very very slowly after a wipe yet it isn't near any screws... Weird
Yep, right in the middle of the topcap/MC body interface. When you pressure bleed the system, fluid pisses out of that spot. Italian build quality in full effect*. Wich is why I've never liked them. Too grabby, too spongy, too high maintenance.
(*they're made by Formula in Italy for Avid). They're never going to make them as well for a competitor as they do for their own brand, are they?
I haven't actually bled them yet, so it must be everytime i pull the lever to slow down. Why on earth would formula be making them for avid bit lazy really.
