Your probably right but I never try before I buy with anything - including bikes/frames/forks I just buy what I like the look of in the shop or in the magazines.

The only thing I have ever really regretted buying using this system was a set of rock shox totem coil forks, which are shite

Well after reading this article and Als comments on the Joystick I plummed for an Eagle Tac P100 C2 torch and joystick mount.

I'm very impressed, as powerful as, if not more so than my mates Joystick, even my mates have been surprised at how good this torch is.Also orderd a charger and 2 sets of rechargeable batteries and saved myself £60.

Calling Fenix enthusiasts: which torch should we be reviewing for bike use? Or, to put it another way, which model have you found most useful?

LD20, its the use of AAs that does it for most people.

I rode round the red route at Glentress last Wednesday night with my new diablo torch on my head and i thought it was really good - used the low setting on the climbs and high everywhere else - out for about 2.5 hours (few goes at spooky wood) and it showed no sign of letting up.

My mate had a few year old exposure light which mine was notably more powerful than on full, plus the exposure helmet mount was better than his tie wrap to the helmet solution. The diablo is really good on your head you cant feel its even there, and the button is dead easy to locate and operate with gloves on.

Saw a few other people out with various lights none seemed to make mine look underpowered, so all in, I was impressed!

I will state again though - I have zero previous experience of lights or riding at night!!!!

the thing with night riding is, of you are comfortable with the amount of light that you are giving out then your lights are fine.

If you're on your own you can get away with not much at all. Get in a group and the arms race quickly gains momentum

plus having to fight the shadows thrown by the bloke with a search light behind you!
