Have been for a couple of rides on my new road bike and am really suffering from cramp/pain in my foot. Within 2 miles I am getting a really nasty pain on the outside edge and just underneath each foot, in the middle of the foot length. I have tweeked the cleats about, just been out again and still getting the pain. As I look at my feet in the pedals they look dead straight, I was always under the impression that they should dish in slightly at the toe. Cant seem to adjust them any further that way though. Also not at all confident with the Look pedals, I am finding them really hard to clip into at times as the pedal never sits flat like the Shimano ones on the MTB. I ended up in a heap in the road on my first outting as I ran out of momentum before I could get the foot in...not a good start!
Is it worth going for a proper set up session at my LBS as I am not sure if my seatpost needs an inch taking off it too or just that I am being a bit of a coward with the new riding position?!
On the plus side I am really chuffed with smoothness of the bike, I thought it would be like being flung down a cliff in a barrel for ride comfort. Once I am comfy and more confident I think I am going to really enjoy this roadie malarky!
I also just got 2nods & a hello on my little jaunt! May have had something to do with the bra exposure due to ill fitting vest top but I'll take them anyway! Got sod all hellos on my MTB!
