Suddenly realised the other day that my rear brake wasn't working that great, I couldn't even skid the rear at any speed. I thought as its been a while since i cleaned it up it might be just crud causing it. I cleaned everything with pure iso alcohol as I normally do but still no better. No leaks of any kind that i can see, I bled the brakes about 3 months ago and since then its only been commuting. Brake pads are pretty new sintered one's so cant be that. Anything else I should look for before I do another full bleed? Deore LX brakes by the way.

I've found even when cleaning them with iso i lose a bit of power and they shriek like a banshee, however it may be that you haven't bedded the pads in properly some take a while but i've found that with new pads the best way to bed them is to ride about half a mile to a mile with the brakes on and getting them really hot, sometimes you can smell the pads burning but thats no problem let them cool on their own or chuck some water on them. If after all that  they still dont work you've some how contaminated them which renders them useless.
