Hi
Sat at home with too much time on my hands at the moment, after a knee operation. Too many bike mags & websites have given me the itch for a new bike!
I'm mainly a mtn biker and currently have 3 mtn bikes & a Spesh S-Works CX bike (with an extra set of wheels with road tyres on). Had first op on knee last Nov (didn't fix it) and so mtn bikes have been gathering dust this year and only biking has been on the road (& strangley enjoyable!).
To have a goal to get fit before the 2nd operation, I entered the Cheddar Sportive last month. Really enjoyed it!! First time I've done a road event, and first time I've ridden 100miles in one go! Very happy with 5h40m!
I've been told 6mths rehab on the knee, and even then to go steady for the first year. So I can see next year being majority road riding. I like the idea of doing more Sportives and such and so started thinking of do I need a 'proper' road bike?
These 2 look good value (& look nice too!)

The question is, would I really notice a big differnce over my CX bike or is it just too much time browsing the internet?!
Cheers!
