Where to get v-brake mounts?
I cannot find v-brake mounts.

Hi,

Having decided to do away with my cheap front disc brake and fit v-brakes, I now have the  problem of not being able to find anywhere to buy the mounts (little rods to put v-brakes on to). I have the facility to fit them on the forks which currently have little plastic bits in their place.

Does anyone know where I can buy these? I have asked in all the local bike shops if they have any spares but none do.

Thanks for the help!

You're going to have to give us a clue!

Marzocchi?

My apologies, they're SR Suntour MG 70. They are quite old now.

Cheers

Ooer Suntour, you'll be lucky. Might be easier buying a second hand fork to cannibalise

Oh right, I had considered that. Any suggestions? Are there any particularily decent Rock Shox  models, 4 - 5 years old? Or any other suggestions for that matter?

Re. my last message, i'm actually thinking about buying a whole new set of forks to replace the current ones, i'd buy some that have the mounts on already.

 Thanks

personally if you have disc ready hubs then I'd save up for a half decent disc brake . They're nearly always more consistant and easier to set up - not even that expensive,

what's your current disc? Is it cable or hydraulic?

Sadly my front wheel was stolen and the disc brake was a cheap one and on it's way out so I chucked it.

The new wheel I bought does not have disc ready hubs so unfortunately until i'm in a position to buy a new wheel (or hub?) i'll have to continue with the v-brake option.

ah I see. . Still there are some good wheel/disc brake deals around - check out merlin cycles for example.

Sorry I can't help with the v brake mounts. . . Not sure if some from other forks would fit perhaps?
