Never mind. I waited for 5 minutes then set off towards Castleton hoping to see you. I was at the foot of Winnats (the junction) at about 19:15.

I went up the Broken Road intending to go to Rowter Farm, Dirtlow Rake and then over towards Windmill, Bretton and then Eyam and then home from there.

The Broken Road was OK, and the track as far as Rowter Farm itself - but after that the drifts were too deep to walk let alone ride so I abandoned any off-road plans and stuck to the tarmac.

Ah, I think I drove past you coming off the bottom of Winnats... I went up the Roman Road, initially clear then a massive drift, down Jaggers - snowed up - then up the road to Mam Nick, down Winnats, up the Broken Road, down Winnats again and home over the Snake.

Funny how quite pleasant road climbs become quite unpleasant on a mountain bike... Should have taken the Rat. Mail me you mobile and next time I'll be able to let you know when things go pear shaped.

I'm riding locally this week, I think. I feel like a change from Hope and the hour I don't spend driving is an hour I can spend on the bike instead. Plus I can start and finish earlier.

Chris - I'm in Derby tomorrow but I should be back in time.

Jon - You should ride over to get some extra miles in. That way you can start earlier and finish, erm... later

OK. The Derby meetings are bi-weekly now so I'm back on for tomorrow (Thursday 11th March) night.

19:00hrs in Hope for a classic Peak District loop, vis:

Hope - Roman Road - Potato Alley - Concrete Switchbacks - Lockerbrook -
Fairholmes - Up the 'Screaming Mile' - Hagg Farm - Boring Climb -
Twitchill - Hope.

Any takers?

This Thursday anyone?

Suggest the same route as last week since I was the only one that did it!

If you mean the one on the 11th April, no - I'm not. It clashes with round 1 of the Midlands XC series.

And the next one (also at Builth) clashes with round 2 of the Midlands XC.

I might manage the Grassington one on 2010-07-04 but it's the day after round 4 of BMBS at Dalby so I might be a bit too tired.

So many events. So little time

I will however be out on Thursday night
