 Hi guys Just wondered what trousers people are wearing for cycling? I always see people out and about in normal combat trouser/tracky bottoms and jeans. whenever I try any of em, I end up tangled up. I usually wear 3/4 trousers or tight cycling trousers. i get loads of stick from my mates when I wear the cycling trousers, admittedly, they look a bit inappropriate in certain areas. Can anyone recommend any full length cycling trousers that are breathable, dont look like ballet trousers and don't cost the earth? thanks

 I don't often wear more than 3/4s but I do have some Altura longs that are pretty good. Velcro up for riding but undo for drinking... They must be breathable 'cause they sure aren't waterproof! Reasonable price IIRC.

 montane terra equilibrium work well, not waterproof, but showerproof and breathable and stretchy, and they don't feel like your legs are wrapped in a polythene bag. Plus suitable for other outdoor activities.

Thanks guys They are what I am looking for (apart from the farah lol) Think the Endura Hummvee Trousers will do me at the mo with my budget. Not sure how the sizing works though, the sizing chart shows waist and chest but not inside leg? *edit* umm, after reading a few reviews on chain reaction, some are complaining that the trousers are to baggy and get caught!

.jpg) Why worry about what your mates say! When cycling to pub I wear those combat trousers were the leg bottoms zip on/off, so they are shorts for the ride and longs in the pub. Don't normally cycle to pub these days, I have taken to using the bus.

I just feel conscious about them now with them being tight in certain areas, nothing is left to the imagination. With winter coming up, ill probably look harmless enough though 
I cant imagine weaing them in a pub lol. The combats with the zip offs are a good idea though

 Just throw a pair of shorts in your bag, then pop them on when you get to the pub, baggys and tights is fashion OK, and you keep the chairs in the pub clean from the mud on your arse.

 What Serge said, shorts over tights works well...
Or keep the shorts and buy some of those leg warmers.
