I've just bought a Trek Madone 5.2Pro

Only been out on it a few times, and I seem  to be experiencing a clicking noise when I "put the power down" and accelerate hard. It's just a one off "click" that I hear at the point which I press down hard but then nothing as I continue to pedal. I think its coming from the chainset, or BB. I've done the obvious thing and checked the tightness of the bolts but is there anything else that I should be investigating? The bike shop is in the Town centre and is a royal pain in the ass to get to, so if I can fix it myself it would be much better. Cheers.

possible that parts weren't greased when put on, can lead to this annoying clicking. Are they your old pedals? If so check the bearings on them

One of the daftest clicks I had on the road bike was the front mech cable end catching on the cranks, only happened when in top gear.

It will probably be something as daft

Pedals are brand new KEO's. Noise definately not the gear cable, it's louder than that. Probably is something like not enough grease.

Chain aligned perfectly in all gears?

And is it the correct length?
