Does anyone know where I can respray my old frame, I live in Norfolk but am willing to travel to find somewhere decent. How much is it likely to cost for a decent tough respray?

There's a company in Bristol called Argos who have a good reputation but they're probably too far from you.

Try an small independent car accident repair center where you are likely to find a chap more than willing to do you a decent respray with left over paint from a accident respray job but you may have to wait a while for them to have enough/the right colour.

I renovated a polished Marin Bobcat Trail at Xmas from ringing round adds in Yellow Pages.
Shot blast of frame, stem & riser bar £10.
Powder coating of frame (aluminium silver), stem & riser (black) £20.
Original year sticker kit £free.
£30 total & the bike looks fantastic!!!!!
SO GET RINGING!

i dont think it matters about scratching,i`ve been quoted £40 for a spray job which has 2 good coats of primer grey and 4 coats of laquer,i wanted it grey anyway,it looks more stealthy

That was from a car repair center too

To early to tell about scratch resistance.
The company was an industrial components powder coating - Unispray, Thorpe Arch Industrial Estate, nr Wetherby.

Argos? Do you mean the catalog people? can you give more info.

I'm thinking of getting a respray on my bike too, what is the most scratch resistant coating no question on money?

check out their website argoscycles.com for more info. I know of a couple of people who have used them in the past and been very pleased with the results.

Looking to get a frame done myself, here are three names I found; Dave Yates, Bob Jackson and API Cycles.  They offer respraying and frame repairs.

If you do go with Argos get the enamel finish, it's much tougher. It'll come back looking better than new they do a crackin' job.

Jonty,

I have had several frames resprayed by a friend of mine who owns a spray works in Hertfordshire:

Finishline UK Limited
Jack's Hill
Graveley
Hitchin
HERTS
SG4 7EQ

The owner is Chris Bray, he is a mountain biker himself and very approachable.
Hope this may help.

What about airspray, wolves and moons and stuff found on American hogs? I'd love something really custom - not just 'grey'. I searched for some pictures but couldn't find any serious custom jobs, anyone know of anything?
