Time to upgrade to discs. I ride a Malt3 hard-tail. Full XT (+V brakes)with a Manitou Mars super. I'm only 11 stone and ride XC (no full on down-hill or jumps)
What hubs, rims, and discs do folk recommend? I would like the rims to be disc-specific. Is mavic the only choice? What hubs? Light as poss. What disc system? Shimano vs Hope?
Another question to add to your collection - what budget?
If you want light as poss then it has to be either Chris king ISO hubs or Mavic crossmax wheelset. I'd decide (assuming you can afford it) according to whether you normally fettle your wheels yourself ofr have them done for you. If you do them yourself then chris king on X317 (although X517s are significantly lighter, but not disc specific). If you don't then the crossmaxes really are the biz - very light, aero spokes (really do make a difference) and the crossmax rim is reputed to be stronger than a standard XC race rim. Plus they look superb (pleased with mine :-)
Since you're after light kit then neither hope or shimano - Formula 4 pot racing discs will be the biz. Better reliability than Hope, lighter than any of them.
