This is an attempt by some East Riding people to do a "North Leeds MTB". It all started quite innocently on this thread.

The idea is this, if you're from or planning a ride in the Hull / East Riding area and you wouldn't mind a bunch of like minded knobble-heads accompanying you, post a message here.

You will need to be clear about.
o) When the ride is, date and time
o) Where it starts from

Some idea of the difficulty and the length of the ride would also be useful.

The first ride is from the Green Dragon in Welton this evening (21 July) at 6:30. See the original thread for details on who's involved.

The ride tonight is about 9 miles, almost entirely off road in the woods and pretty easy really. Just keeps our legs spinning until the weekend. There are only 3 of us going so far but anyone is welcome. If any one else is planning to come along then post a message on this thread and we'll watch out for you.

Always up for a trip to the peaks but can only make weekends. I'm in the lake district this weekend but will definitely be doing a ride next weekend (last one before my hols). Peaks or Hebden Bridge are favourite at moment. Anyone else interested?

I'm up for weekend trips to the Peaks but am busy/away for the next three weekends.

Seems like a good idea, I can organise evening rides around the Driffield area not to technical but good fun, last about 1 - 2 hours depending on light etc.
Show/hide user stats
Richard, do you fancy organising something for next Wednesday? It'll make a change from Welton.
Show/hide user stats
next wednesday evening would be good either driff or welton.
what standard are you lads at??
Show/hide user stats
Various standards. Some quite fit, some not very. Ages 30's and 40's. Emphasis always on fun and wait for the slowest riders. Planning a trip to CYB or Glentress in September which might be worth thinking about now.
Show/hide user stats
I should be OK for next Wednesday evening, I'll have to alternate it with football if we carry on on Wednesdays though.

What standard am I at? I have no idea. Ten years ago I was a farily fit 20 year old, but since then a lot of injury, bike theft, beer and general assorted woes have passed under the bridge...

sounds about right.... my brother and i are off to Glentress in september, as well as the other stanes.
CYB sounds good.
my standard... 37yrd old turning to fat but enjoy the challenge. like the bit about waiting for the slower riders..lol

Mid week rides are usually Tuesday or Wednesday depending on how people are fixed. We'll pencil in Welton or Driffield for next week and also open up the forum for suggestions for the following Saturday.
Show/hide user stats
I can arrange a route for next week, starting near Driffield. Nothing to technical about 15 miles if that will suit you all. Post on here to let me know what time start, suggest 1830 or 1900hrs latest.

Richard, I will be able to make Driffield next Wednesday and will bring at least one other rider with me (Ted). Due to traffic a 7pm start will be more realistic. What sort of terrain is it?
Show/hide user stats
I /should/ be able to make Driffield by 7pm too, I'll certainly give it a go.

Does mean some horrible microwave concoction or even Pot Noodle for tea though!

Gary... IIRC you live near me, would you have room for another?

If not I'll bring my little Pug 106 which can take two bikes and two people (including me).
Show/hide user stats
can make driffield for 7pm next wednesday. any one from beverley who wants a lift let me know....
Show/hide user stats
Tom, we'll be going in Ted's van. Room for 3 people and 3 bikes. I'll let you know pick up time etc on Tuesday.

Mmmmm Pot Noodle, lurvely!
Show/hide user stats
OK will work on 7pm wed. Will let you know details later. Terrain will be mainly bridlepath with a little bit of road to link on. Should be firm / chalky riding with some grass.
Show/hide user stats
I'll be away for a few days now but post details of where to meet in Driffield and I'll catch up when I get back on Monday.
