i recently bought a bike with deor shifters XT R mech and magura disks. The deor shifters don't really work with the shape of the magura lever so i think i need to go over to saram (it is a good excuse to go over any way). At the moment i am trying to figure out if it is worth going all X 9 at the cost of £140 of just getting rocket shifters for £70. The XT mech is still in good condition but will the system work better with all X 9.0?

X9.0 won't work with XT different Cable Pull.

Rockets and Attacks normal will I think work fine though, check on Wiggle it's got them all on there.

i know X-9 will not work with xt, the question was should i buy X-9 shifters and mech or just upgrade the shifters to rocket? Does the 1:1 system work better than the 2:1?

Buy X-9. SRAM 1:1 works better than Shimano IMO

I have SRAM right through and the shift is sublime

Are you talking twisters or triggers? If you're looking at triggers, for my money the difference isn't worth the extra - go Rocket with the XT you've got. If you're thinking twisters, go 9.0 throughout.

i am talking trigger, i think i will buy rocket but i know i will regret it when i come to change R mech.
