SAG: I read a bit on the correct amount of sag to have in the shocks. I heard that I should have about 20%. Is that sitting normally or standing? I ask as I set mine to about 20% while sitting, but when I go down a hill and am standing, the shocks are almost fully compressed. That doesn't give much room to move if I hit a rock.
TRAVEL: The Marzocchi MX Pro ETS's are supposed to have 105mm of travel. The most I've compressed them to is 95mm (with hitting a big rock). Is that normal? I heard that they have to break in first, so it could be just that. I've done about 5 hours on them.
Sorry about all the questions. I'm still in the learning phase.
I set my MX Comps sag at about 30% in the sitting position & leaning forward a bit but you set yours to whats feels right. I did not have full travel until I got the oil level checked by windwave & there was way to much oil in them but after they took some oil out, the forks were much better.
The amount of travel & sag I get depends on how much air is in the forks but now I find 40psi & 30% sag gives me a good all round setting but when the forks were full of oil they did not feel right at all so perhaps get them checked at the LBS.
