I have made my mind up to go for the Merlin Malt 2 with 'Zocchi ETA's but have the age old question of frame size (seeing as I can't get up there to try one out).
I am 5'9" with 31" inside leg and was wondering what any of you out there with malt 2's (I hear the Malt 1 has different geometry) have gone with.
Merlin suggested a 17" but I tend to prefer a smaller frame size and have read on various forums that their frame sizes tend to come up a little large and I don't wanna risk me jewels!!!
Neil you have to go with the 17" as I am the same hight and inside leg as you and ordered a 15" before Xmas. I had to send mine back as it was about 1" to small on the seatpost adjustment. I haven't got it back yet with the new 17" frame but am pretty sure it will be just great. I got the malt two with several upgrades including the eta forks, easton bars etc, xt front and rear, fsa orbit 11 headset and the kevlar tyres (red), and also I got the crank upgraded to the LX model(Gold )for free(see there sale bits and pieces)a bit pimpy but still better than the deore for no extra price! Intotal this cost me £788 with deleivery
If you want to look at comments i got from people when i said my bike was to small have a look at the following thread: http://www.bikemagic.com/forum/forummessages.asp?URN=3&UTN=62417&last=1%20&%20SP%20=%20%20&%20V%20=%206
Get the 17" otherwise you will never forgive youself???
