Here's a peek of Michelin's new prototype of its airless integrated tyre & wheel (Tweel). Looks pretty interesting - any guesses as to when it's going to be available for bikes ?

It looks like it'd feel your tyres were flat all the time

Still not sure how it would work for 2 wheel vehicles that have to lean on their tyres to corner, maybe an enclose version would work but I'm just not sure how the tweel's structure could be developed to handle sideways forces as well as vertical bumps etc.

Aint we done this already?
