going to wales early tommorow morning for the weekend, mate had his 2002 marzocchi MXC air forks serviced, bike shop put 10wt oil in, fork seriously over damped, ive got 5wt in the workshop but ive never serviced a set of marzocchis before, ive been looking on there website but cant find any information on a oil change for these forks.need to sort them out within the next couple of hours!!!! can any one out there help?
26mm socket, remove the plug at the top of each leg. Oh yeah, Take out air first. I then just compress the fork (slowly) Note where the oil level is, and then empty that oil into a suitable container. Pour in some new oil, cycle the fork a few times the oil level will fall, and then top up to previous level. Replace the caps, fill with air and job done. Not sure if this is the correct method, but it worked for me.
just finished. the left hand plug was really tight, and the oil was filthy black looks like the bloke at the shop bottled it, lbs's eh? anyway, there much better now. mike and steevo, your help is very much appreciated, cheers.
can you be more specific dylan? havent got time now and they are loads better, but one for future as they are in need of a proper strip down, full of black gunk in the left leg.
