right after some conflicting reports of the actual material used to make xtr chainrings, ive decided to start a thread to try and work out if there worth the money or not. being a time rich type of person i read all the normal major mtb related bike mags on sale, so i know what theve got to say about them, but what i'm interested in is what you the bm massive think of them. without being rude i'd be greatful if the responses to this thread were from people who either own xtr chainrings or have had substatial use from them.
Hollowtech 1 26/36/48. The Shimano Bible says they're 7075 (XT are just 'aluminium'). The wife has been using them on her race bike since 98. Not exactly intensive use I know but there are no signs of wear.
luke-I just started a similar thread myself-look below..some people say they are utter crap others think they are the best thing since sliced..er..cheese. Oops, sorry I see you only wanted to here from those owning them...
