Help! Looking to replace my frame, I am basically a XC rider, do the odd enduro and Adventure Racing.
My plan would be a Yeti ASR-SL but my local bike shop is not sure when in the next 3 months they can get one which was OK until I broke the top off the seat tube of my bike yesterday (at the point where the metal leave the carbon fibre).
Any ideas what else I can think about??? Santa Cruz suplerlight??? Scott Genius (although not sure how much the frame is)??? What else???
Oh, I will be putting a pair of 100mm Marathon XCs on it.
If you can stretch, i've heard good things about the Intense Spyder XVP, although it is a bit expensive. You could try to get your employer involved under the new governments tax scheme - check out www.booost.uk.com
The Santa Cruz Blur is also s'posed to be really something. There are others such as the Litespeed Niota AL - going seriously cheap on Wiggle.co.uk as is last years Giant NRS framset (same place), Tomac's revolver, Cove's Hustler, Turner's 5 spot/nitrous of flux, Intense's 5.5 EVP (if you're looking for a bit more burly), Rocky Mountain's ETSX/Slayer/Element, Ellsworth's Truth, Salsa's Caballero, any FS frame from Ventana, the Whyte 46 (again for burly), maybe the Cannondale Prophet's (although am not convinced on the axle path) or the Orange Sub or Patriot 66, maybe the Trek Liquids or the Specialized Epics or as you said, the Scott Genius, or even a cheaper offering from Kona.
There, that about does it. These are all bikes i've heard have good qualities, but to be honest, I personally don't know. I'm in the process of trying to get an Intense 5.5 and will decide once i've tried. Everyone i've spoken to always says to try the bikes out and to really try to pin down what you want to use it for.
i have a xc bike (rockrider 6.4) full sus i want to do jumps on this bike am i going to brak it ??
im new to this stuff and brought this bike the other day what the hell can i use it for i like off road bunny hops, manuals, wheelie, and jumps is this bike going to be ok i have only done like five foot at the moment but want more air please help thanks if so davd....
For trail riding, hence the XC (cross country) tag. They are not designed for jumping, and Decathlon won't honour any warranty if you break it.
Probably should have done a bit more research into what bike would have been suitable for the type of riding you want to do, before you went and bought one eh?
ok what is the best bike i can get for 550-600pound? i have ordered one but they did not let me pay cause they ordered it from france so i sorter got that bike but i can canel it what bike i love free ride but cost too much and hate hard tails?
I got a Turner Flux and its a great all round XC ride, the Nitrous is faster/lighter but Turner state its only for rider weighing less than 160 lbs so thats a big no for my lard arse ;-)
Quite a few Titus riders in America has switched from the x racer to the Flux simply because the Flux can do everything the x racer can and then some more.
I had a good test ride on a Scott RC Genius, steep head angle, good for climbing and twisty single track but no use on any steep downhill, could that be why Nick Craig has exchanged the standard Fox forks for 100m Reba's ?
