I've just started to do some real DH and stuff that could really end up with me making a mess of my face. I'm no model but I've kinda become attached to how i look at the moment So i need to get a full face helmet. I don't want to spend too much as I haven't got the cash. so far I'm looking at the Bell ballistic, 661 full bravo or azonic T55. Any suggestions?
The Giro Mad Max is due to be replaced - try and nab a bargain. Otherwise I may sell my (hardly used S/M) Switchblade as I now ride in Xen and have a Mad Max should I feel the need to get nasty.
If you want the Bravo in carbon....you can get it cheap on wiggle, but cheaper on Wades. They have a price match policy and told me they would do it for £105. Thats a saving of over £80. Only £10 more than the basic Bravo. Its a lovely light hat too.
As Mike says which ever one fits best, I fancied the Bell but it was too small, I ended up with a 661 due to their sizing which suited me better. The Full Bravo is a nice lid which has already saved my teeth, something I'm not confident the Switchblade it replaced would have done in the same circumstance.
i went for a bellistic in the end, cos i saw a review in MBUK saying that it was the best budget full facer and i found one for a bargain £50 on CRC. seems fine the fit is a bit snug but more than OK; it may pack out with a bit of use. Not had a chance to try it yet.
