Hi people,

Wondering if you can give me some help, unfortunatly when i was riding in the forest of dean this weekend i came off and snapped my saddle.

Any recommendations for a good saddle for a 6'4 13 stone bloke. Riding single track mainly.

Very personal, go and prod some, see what you think.

I like Selle Italia SLRs, but they're certainly not to everyone's liking.

I think it personal preference like NE suggests. Personally I like the Specialized BG range - comfy and pretty good value.

don't know what you had before and how much you liked it.

but fiziks get good write ups spesh the gobi although thats well expensive 80 pounds

and the spesh body geometery saddle also gets good write ups 25 pounds

but suppose a bit of advice i can give is it's not softness it's the shape of it thats most important.

Thats what i have heard. shape is more important.

I have a WTB Speed V Race Saddle. Which was pretty nice and comfy.

I've used Flite Titaniums for years, but I have recently bought a Fizik Gobi, a bit more expensive, but oh so comfy. I cant recommend it enough after years of pain from the Flites on long rides. Look online I got a red one for £60, which is at least £15 cheaper than most shops

Try and find a shop that will let you buy a saddle and return it within a week (or something) if you don't like it because a saddle someone else likes you could hate.
That said I'd try a Fizik, I've currently got a Fizik Nisene and although its getting a bit worn its really comfy.

Funny thing, Andy: My speed V race was a crippler.

I'm using a cheapo body geometry intake race saddle currently which is far less pain.

(I'll be trying a specialized BG next, but only because I can't afford a Fizik, which I've tried and liked.)

You might be able to find some good deals on Fiziks online or on ebay. I got mine for £17 new off ebay and i've seen ones go for less.

I've tried loads of seats and I know its a personal thing but the Fizik Plateau that came with my bike is the comfiest I've ever had and I've tried some pricey saddles in the past (egSDG Belair). Though I am tempted to go for a Fizik Gobi as its a fair bit lighter.

I've found any of the Koobi saddles to be v. comfy. Probs go for a Koobi enduro.
