has anyone used the Mont Blanc Barracuda roof bars? I've seen soem good reviews for these in the motoring press, but nothing in the bike press. They look bether than the Thule 591 because they hold your bike in place while you fasten the frame fixing.

I've had three of these almost three years now and can't believe I ever used anything else. I can actually get four bikes nose to tail on the roof of my VW Golf with them.

You get your bike on or off in -literally- less than one minute. Bikes are held securely and you can lock them as well. Couldn't recommend them more highly.

Don't forget that you'll have to buy roof bars separately, as they are what the Barracuda racks sit upon.

Thanks Derek, I've got Thule type aerobars already (they're actually Vauxhall but very similar section) which I understand the Barracudas will fix to & I've seen some almost new racks on Ebay.

I'd say jump on them, Ian. If there's always a car journey between you and the ride (I live in central London) they make a heck of a difference.
