I just saw a giant trance 1 which hasn't got a nut to cover the crank on the left side of the bike.
The guy in the shop told me that it's supposed to be like that because it's Hollowtech or something?
Could someone please tell me if its normal / or perhaps has one?

i to have seen this on GT's and my new bike dawg primo.

I know the primo has and isis bb so i don't think it has anything to do with hollowtech.
more to do with weight saving.

Although I could be proved wrong this is just what i've worked out haveing seen hese bikes

The cranks that you have are raceface's take on Shimano's hollowtech 2 system. On raceface the bottom bracket axle is permantly attached to the non drive side crank and doesn't require a bolt, the only bolt that should be visible is on the driveside. your cranks are fine, don't worry.

Thanks. I thought i was going crazy. You're right, the bolt was only on the drive side.
