right then, the dave hinde M3 frame is going on ebay.
between taking dave hinds to court and an ongoing back problem have meant the frame has clocked up barely 30 road miles :(
so im sick of the sight of it TBH

so looking around for a decent hardtail frame the new pace frame caught my eye.
now can the frame still be used with 100mm travel forks since its stated to be designed for 130mm travel?as i dont fancy shelling out for forks on top of the frame price just now as my forks have done as many miles as the M3.
also whats peoples views on semi integrated headesets re longevity and possible frame damage in a stack?

cheers

lol, if you want any backup on the case, just ask here, there's plenty going on

i'd ask Mike D to remove the name, else he could end up sueing you for defamation of charecter etc...

as for the frame, lovely on all accounts

if you run 100, the steering will be a tad sharper

shouldnt be a problem as my case has been through the courts and is a fact of court records.
needless to say it follows the usual modus operandi(sp) of the afore mentioned shop

The RC303 is (AFAIK) designed around 100-130mm forks so you shouldn't have issues. If it's anything like my Cotic (which has the same design criteria) it will handle nice and sharp with 100mm and will be great on the steep stuff with 130.

Just finished building my new Pace up and it looks superb. Can't ride it yet as my seatpost hasn't arrived but I will tomorrow. Sleepless night tonight then!

I'm running XT mechs and shifters for now, Race Face Deus XC chainset, Easton EC70 carbon bars & seatpost with Hope stem. Avid Juicy 7 brakes on some Bontrager DiscLite wheels. The forks are Manitou Minute 4's. I'll be changing the rear mech and shifters to the new X.9 (07 versions) when they come out as I run X.0 on my Intense and they are ace. The headset is a Ritchey one which I got cheap. I got the frame for £450 as I bought a few other things so I'm more than happy with that price. The size is a medium as I'm 5ft 9ins - well very nearly and it's spot on. It's the silver finish and it's lovely to look at. It's not perfect as routing the cables and the rear disc hose is a pain as it's very fiddly under that brace. The rear cable routing is spot on for SRAM stuff though as it runs from the top chainstay, then goes to the inside so it's well out of the way. Well done Pace. It's also got the Crud bolts too so that's brilliant for the winter.

I've had a change in colours as my Santa Cruz Blur and my S Works hardtail were black. Most - sorry all my mates bikes are black so it's time to be different. I rode a black one and it looks very nice and stealthy.

Prefer the look of the Maxlight with the Carbon Stays, to the Pace.

Hmmmm Carbon stays.

100mm fork tops i guess with that.

The Maxlight with the carbon stays is a racer where as the pace is the hardnut hardtail. Kinesis do another frame which is direct competitor to the Pace ad that's a very nice frame and can handle 130-150 travel forks. I built one of the carbon frames up for a customer and it is a very nice frame indeed.

Maxlight Phase 5 is the other frame. It's well worth a look.
