On some single track, got to say I was impressed, handled roots and bumps alot smoother, despite not set up for me and the MX Comp 03's only having 80mm of travel and set to fast.



So, should be even better setup right, with some Reba's, hmmmmm tempted.

29'er mx comps?

If the tyres went through an MX Comp they can't be any bigger diametre wise than a Conti Diesel so I can't see why it would roll better.

No, a 29inch Marz MX comp looking fork, of 03 vintange, beats me what it actually was.

was comparing wheels and angles from mine to his, not a huge difference, but sure road over roots better. He had thinner tyres and higher pressures than I run, and his was still smoother.


Wonder how quick you'd have to go, with heavy rims and tyres before you have to counter steer :)

You surprise me Dylan. Yeah the idea has also entered my head. I have put the rigid forks back on the inbred at the mo - great fun, might look for some carbon rigids.

IIRC Pace do an RC31 for 29ers.

Just made a phone call to a local supplier for a price idea, he's ringing trek to see what the prices and the Spec are.

No 06 29ers in the Gary Fishers where imported, launch date is sept 10th of the 07, and they reckon ever bugger wants them.

I fancy a 29" SS for winter – I think it'd make a really good winter hack with skinnier tyres.

I on-One did a Geared 29er, rigid I'd be tempted but not riding SS me.

Nowt wrong with SS - anyway, you have 3 gears with SS, sitting down, standing up and walking!

Well, Trek aren't importing any of the 29er FS's, might be able to order direct but hassle and pain if it goes wrong.

They are bring in HT's, single speed and Geared, £900 for the base range Geared HT. With a Reba SL fork which is nice.
