Just looking to get a consensous of opinions on which the better cassette to go for between an XT and a PG980? What are your experiences with them? Good and bad? Which would you go for?

Well, rich. My Love/Hate is Shimano free and I am looking to build a Pipe Dream Sirus, which I would also like to have as Shimano free. So I have been comparing and I think the SRAM are much better in value.

SRAM ones are heavier and more expensive and seem not to last any longer. Why bother!?

i had some SRAM shifters on a Shimano setup which worked fine so i'm thinking about the SRAM cassette now.

I just changed 2 months ago from Shimano XT to the Sram red bling cassette (+Sram Chain). Both work just fine, there's nothing between them in performance IMO. The only dif. is price, you can get XTs for as little as £25 +p&p on ebay, the bling Sram is £50 from ChainReaction. I think I got the bling out of my system now, so I'll most likely go back to sourcing the cheapest XT cassette next time.

I guess another week or so. I was supposed to start my winter training this week to get my weight down to 13 and half stone before April, ya no, ready for the race season and all that.

I done it already. I've lost 3/4 of a stone this week!
