I need to stock up on inner tubes, so thinking of going for a pack of 5, or more.

There seems a massive variety out there ranging from £2-£7 per tube. So which ones would you suggest, please post links if possible. Dont want to go for the ultra cheap ones if they gonna last 1 ride, etc etc!

The LBS to me stocks Specialized and charges £3.99 each or 5 for £15. Decent tubes, light but not silly light and seem fairly resistant to flats.

Decathlon do decent stuff cheap too if there's one near you. They stock Michelin and Kenda IIRC.

10 for £20 at crc. not bad tubes at all, ok, not ground breaking in weight etc, but ime most tubes are pretty standard

Yeah Wiggle stocks the Spesh 5 for 15 , may try them.

Now, if Spesh do a tube 26x1.5-2.2, does that mean it wont fit a 26x2.3 tyre?

I bought some of the Geax tubes last year. I used to have flats every other ride with the cheapo no-name tubes but I haven't had one puncture ever since I fitted the Geax ones...

i wouldn't worry about 1/10th of an inch personally...

Geax also have the size 1.5-2.25, is that a problem for a 2.3 tyre.

Nah it's fine, the tube just gets a tad thinner than it would in a 2.25, but this also has a positive effect on flexibility of the whole tyre/tube combination, with the tube causing less of a problem, a bit similar to tubeless, but obviously not to anywhere near the same degree.
The downside in increased vulnerability to pinch flats.

I was worried about pinch flats, but i suppose it is such a small margin, that unlikely to be very problematic

i have just bought some cheapo inner tubes that only go up to 2in, and my tubes are 2.1in. however, the sizes all seem to vary so much on tyre widths that i don't worry too much about it.

I use Panaracer Supertubes. They're a tad heavier than most standard types but they just don't pinch-puncture, even at the 18psi that I ran when I was slightly lighter.

They state 1.7 - 2.1 but I use them with a 2.35 with no probs at all.

Downsides - more weight on the outside of the rim, a bit pricey at £6.99 and hard to find a supply.
