Running a longer fork will not comprimise the strength of the frame particularly, it'll just make it ride like a chopper. If the headtube's gonna snap it'll do it whatever fork you fit!

Really?? I wonder why so many people keep talking about headtube strengths with a longer fork!!
Well there will be marginally more leverage on the headtube with a slightly longer fork. However I cant imagine it would be sufficient to break your frame (especially from a decent manufacturer like Giant). Now if you were to stick some Boxxers on there than that would be different...
That's what I meant, there will be a subtle difference, but it's not gonna be a massive difference. It's more likely to break because you have 130mm of travel, so you start doing 10ft drops, so the indirect effects may break your frame.
