I've pretty much made my mind up to go for Formula Oro's in one or other of their incarnations.
I now have a shifter decision...
I believe their may be ergonomic issues with rapidfires and formula levers?

If this is so I'm not sure what options to go for. I could stick with my XT rear mech and go for SRAM rocket/attack shifters (I ran Sachs twisters for a long time and swore by them but never used SRAM stuff).
I could upgrade to new XTR shifters as they have lateral adjustment or I could spend even more cash that I don't have switching to SRAM rear mech and shifters.

Your opinions would be useful.

sram will work fine with shimano you know

I know they do shimano compatible stuff but not for their top end shifters.
I think Attack/Rocket are in the X7/X9 bracket?
I like the look of the shim compatible 9.0 sl shifters but they're damn hard to find.

I can get a cheap 9.0sl rear derailleur that would free up the whole range of SRAM twisters but don't know if the mech's any good?

My X9 is brilliant, cannot fault it

they do a nice mount for sram shifters a bit like the avid matchmaker.

I've seen those Luke, they are a tempting way to go.
This option isn't available for any of the shimano compatible shifters though I don't think?
