Owning a Pace RC300, I know that looking good, standing out from the crowd is important. It matters not that I struggle everywhere as a rider, but I'd always know that were I to own a Stumpy, I'd simply be just one of many and always be looking over my shoulder at what others have with a twinge of “I’d like one of those instead”.. That's most certainly not me.
It's the same in all things, I'd never buy a Porche 911 for example, as absolutely "everyone" seems to have them, ditto when it come to motorbikes, an R1/6 is soooo common.
I went out to the Peaks last w/end and absolutely everyone had different bikes (a few Spec, granted) but it was a joy to see, honestly, if I saw 25 bikes, maybe 2 might have been the same, but that was sooo refreshing to see.
It makes you a bit of a spotter I guess, sitting outside the Woodbine Café having a bacon butty and a pint of tea watching the mountain bike crown head up into the hills but the one I liked the look of most was a Commencal in white. Plus my own in Square polished Ali tubing beaut!
So, in reply, yes, the Pace looks everything we’d hoped for. Fab!
